Despite the great progress towards equality in recent years our communities, both here and abroad, have found themselves again being targeted for public disapproval and exclusion and we are holding this event to thank our great community allies in Clare, to celebrate how far we’ve come, but also to let you know that we still need you.
When: Tuesday June 24th 10.30 am – 1pm
Where: Ennis Library Meeting Room
What:
A relaxed panel discussion and Q&A with LGBTQIA+ people from all walks of life living in County Clare, chaired by Dr Anne Mulhall of UCD
A presentation from expert guest speaker Bulelani Mfaco, who will discuss LGBTQIA + rights around the world, LGBTQIA+ migrants and others whose needs for equality were not addressed by the referendum.
Lunch, cake, and a chance to network.
All are welcome to join us for what promises to be a fun and informative event.
Tickets to attend must be booked at the following link: https://CelebrateAgitateEducate.eventbrite.com
Video Competition- ‘We Said Yes’
At this event, with very kind sponsorship from our great allies and friends in Hotel Doolin we will also be launching a video competition ‘We Said Yes’ where we’ll invite people from around Ireland to send us videos of less than one minute’s length where they answer the question ‘What did the Marriage Equality Referendum mean to you?’ There are two categories in this competition, one for LGBTQIA people who got married since the Marriage Equality Referendum and another for everyone else. We have two great prizes of a one-night stay with breakfast in Hotel Doolin on offer for the winning videos. Details of how to enter and the closing dates will be announced at this event.
