Not one but two events are happening on the Friday of Pride!Join Michelle Gunning and Molly Sterling at 5pm in the Design Bank in Miltown Malbay for an LGBTQIA+ Art Workshop! This community gathering will explore identity through mask making using various art supplies. To find out more and register - click here. Later that evening, join us at glór from 8.00pm for QueerVerse – a Celebration of LGBTQIA+ Poets! This hugely popular event returns for its third year as part of Culture Night in Ennis and will continue to bring some of the very best LGBTQIA+ poets to Clare audiences. There will be three guest poets who will all read or perform a selection of their work followed by a limited ‘open-mic’ session where local writers can put their names down to read a poem of their own.To find out more and register - click here.
We will kick off the day early (literally) with our inclusive LGBTQ+ football tournament for women and non binary people! This event is being organised by Shannon Town UTD FC alongside Sporting Pride and Clare Sports Partnership. If you would like to join a team, please email pride@quareclare.ie ! The event starts at 9.30am sharp in Shannon. At 10am in Ennis we will be hosting The One of Many: A theatre workshop with Grainnemir Abualrob and Sorcha Fox. This 2 hour workshop will explore how often we are forced not to be in our bodies, how the space we live in limits our interaction with our bodies, and where we end up stuck within the emotional and psychological aspects of ourselves. We will have music, a puppet show, art workshop for children, Drag storytime a selection of stalls available for your entertainment. We are delighted to be joined by Queer Bike Rides Cork and the Clare Sports Partnership on Sunday for a Social Cycle in Ennis! We will meet in Roslevan Shopping Centre car park at 12.30pm for an easy 20km cycle, finishing back at the start point. We will stop for a picnic (if weather allows) or coffee (bring your own food and drinks). This event will take place in Treacy's Oakwood Arms in Shannon at 8pm - all are welcome! No pre registartion needed but email pride@quareclare.ie if you have any questions.On Thursday September 18th we are hosting an inclusive service at St. Columba's Church on Bindon Street in Ennis - Of One Heart: A Celebration of Unity. This event will start at 7pm but you are welcome to come along for a chat beforehand. Again, there is no need to register but email us if you have any questions.We have one online event, kindly organised by the folks at Inner Voice Inner Journey - Neurodiverse Affirming Therapy for the LGBTQIA+ Community.
